Classic Luge or "buttboard" as it is affectionately known, represents the pure, low tech, low cost origins of gravity sport. We all started lying on skateboards at some point. Buttboards are simply larger skateboards designed for riding "luge style" downhill. Not much more than a plank with wheels, classic luge is still one heckuva thrill. The Classic Luge tests the pilots' ability by limiting the buttboard's design mods to gain an equipment advantage.(like those available to Street Lugers) Just because the rules limit the Buttboard design doesn't mean you can't get the BEST design available. Downhill FAST...
Skateluge's own Classic Luge is built for some serious gravity powered competition. Designed after years of downhill research, this diversion from our popular Original Skateluge format will be turning heads at the finish line. The 15 mm laminated BIRCH deck features a full length concave creating the perfect shape for Classic Luge. Our Classic Luge comes with the proven Randal RII-B trucks and ABEC 11 wheels. We even put Biltin Bearings in the wheels 'cuz they are the best for the job. The deck is topped with our super grippy ACTION PAD but we'll let you stick on where you like it.
Classic Luge is the perfect way to start Gravity Racing. The Skateluge Buttboard will get you to the finish line with the best of them. It will be up to YOUR SKILL to cross the line first. The Skateluge Buttboard was designed to conform to the IGSA rules.
Buttboarding can be a VERY DANGEROUS activity and we recommend you purchase a certified helmet, full leather suit and good gloves. You'll be stopping with your feet so you'll need brake shoes (shoes with extra rubber glued to the bottom). More SAFETY...
